The Downtown San Leandro Farmers Market offers the best in local products—  fresh produce, locally grown flowers and plants, tasty snacks and prepared gourmet food. Every Wednesday night, residents and visitors alike can visit a vacated Parrot Street to browse street vendors, enjoy live perfromances and music, and partake in a community gathering that’s fun for the whole family. The seasonal farmers market is open every Wednesday night beginning in April and lasting through mid-October from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. More information can be found here.

Egg Hunt @ the Casa

On Saturday March 31st 2018, the San Leandro Improvement Assoc. will decorate the Casa Peralta and will be hosting the second annual Egg Hunt @ the Casa to celebrate the Spring season. Festivities will include three egg hunts, face painting, music, family friendly activities and a petting zoo sponsored by Mike’s Feed & Pet.  The three egg hunts will be broken up by age group—the first one kicking off at 10:30 a.m. for ages 3 & under, the second starting at 11:00 a.m. for ages 4-6, and the final egg hunt planned for 11:30 a.m for ages 7 – 10.  Kids are encouraged to bring baskets for the egg hunt.

Over 10,000 individuals fill the streets of Downtown San Leandro for the city’s longest-standing tradition—the San Leandro Cherry Festival. Every June, the celebration hosts a variety of events, where attendees can enjoy food, a beer garden, live entertainment, handmade arts and crafts, a special Kids Zone, a festive parade and of course lots of cherries! The festival is held on W. Estudillo near the historic Casa Peralta and extends down to San Leandro Boulevard, making it easily accessible by public transportation. Sausage and Suds

The 19th annual Sausage and Suds Music Festival will be on Sunday, October 7th, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Parrott Street between E.14th Street and Washington Avenue. It will be a day filled with live entertainment, food, family-friendly games and more. The first Sausage and Suds annual festival was planned in Downtown San Leandro to celebrate San Leandro being designated as the “Sausage Capital of California” by the California State Legislature. This year’s lineup will consist of Avance, The Spazmatics and other musical artists. The musical festival will also feature a Kid Zone that will be filled with activities including face painting, interactive collaborative art and kid-focused entertainment.

It’s A Wonderful Night 

 

On Friday, December 7th, Downtown San Leandro will transform into a winter wonderland with an evening full of holiday entertainment, games, cookie decorating, interactive arts and crafts for kids and horse-drawn carriage rides. Holiday movies will be playing on an outdoor screen and Santa Claus will be posing for pictures with little ones at Estudillo Plaza. The festive night will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with a holiday tree-lighting ceremony at Estudillo Plaza and go until 9 p.m.
