Vendor Information

(re)Discover Downtown San Leandro invites local makers, crafters, artists, and small handmade businesses to apply to be a part of the Makers Market. The goal of the market is to showcase the diverse artists and makers of San Leandro and the Bay Area and foster a family-friendly experience for people of all ages. Booths for community organizations will also be available at no cost. Once accepted, a $125 deposit is required to reserve your spot. Applications will be open until September 5th. Mass-produced goods will not be accepted.

Costs and Payments

 

After review and approval of the application, a $125 deposit invoice will be sent to the email listed. This deposit will be refunded after the event under the event terms and conditions. Failure to follow the terms and conditions of this agreement will result in the forfeiture of the deposit.

Community and Non Profit Booths

Community and Nonprofit booths will be available at no cost to the organization. Those that identify as BIPOC, AAPI, and/or LGBTQIA+ are encouraged to apply for a Community booth.

Shared Booths

Makers have the option to share a 10x10 booth with another vendor. Only one deposit of $125 must be submitted for a shared booth and will be refunded under the terms and conditions of the payment method provided. Shared booth vendors only need to submit one application together.

Maker Acceptance and Notifications

 

Vendors will be notified of their acceptance within two weeks of their application submission. Upon being accepted, an invoice will be sent to the primary email address listed on the application. Failure to pay the deposit by September 7th will result in the forfeiture of the vendor’s market space.

Vendor Responsibility

 

Vendors must provide their own fixtures. Electricity is not provided and generators will not be permitted. Vendors are required to have their own 10'x10' canopy tent. If a vendor does not have a tent, one can be rented for $185 if specified in the application form or upon request by September 7th.

Cancellations

 

Vendor cancellations must be submitted to julia@downtownsanleandro.com by September 7th. Absence from the event without notice by September 7th will result in the forfeiture of the vendor’s deposit. If the event is canceled, all vendor deposits will be refunded under the terms and conditions of the payment method provided.

Permit Requirements

 

California state law requires that all vendors have a valid state seller's permit, including any applicable business licenses and liability insurance. For more information on FREE seller's permits and business licenses, please visit https://www.cdtfa.ca.gov/taxes-and-fees/faqseller.htm

Vendors are responsible for any business or personal insurance necessary to cover their liability. Vendors also waive all responsibility and liability from the Downtown San Leandro CBD and its partners.

Health and Safety

 

The Downtown San Leandro CBD is dedicated to the health and safety of all event participants and attendees. Following the guidance and recommendations of the CDC and the Alameda County Health Department, face coverings and masks are optional and will not be required outdoors for vaccinated individuals. In both spaces, it is up to the Participant to enforce their own rules regarding covid prevention (i.e., Masking, Distancing, Hand Sanitizing) 

Rules and guidance regarding Covid prevention are subject to change under the direction of the CDC and the Alameda County Health Department. Please refer here for any updates or changes to mask policies. 

For health and safety reasons animals, except for service animals, will not be permitted at this event.

Liability

 

The Downtown San Leandro Community Benefit District (CBD) and its partners are not responsible for any damage or loss to participant property. In attending this event, the vendor waives any claims against the Downtown San Leandro Community Benefit District and its partners in the event of loss, damage, liability, or injury.
